Hi I’m Brian.

After qualifying as an automotive mechanic, servicing many makes and models of vehicles, I had roles of Service Advisor and Service Manager, before owning and operating our own service repair centres and service station complex.

I then joined a large corporate, providing opportunities to grow and further develop my skills. These included setting up new ventures, rebuilding non performing businesses, retail development, marketing and operations, running an 82 store network across New Zealand employing over 1200 people. The training and specialised courses taken during this time, enabled me to develop a wide range of professional skills and knowledge that I share with others today.”

betterment specialises in customer service and leadership training programs, designed specifically for each business to get the best from all employees. Our Automotive Service Advisor program has now been delivered to many dealerships in Australia and New Zealand.

My other passions are my family; Jill, my 2 children and 4 grandchildren. I have a 2003 50th anniversary Corvette that is my pride and joy. I love to travel, enjoy gardening, swimming, golf as well as supporting the rugby and league.

Hi I’m Jill.

I have had extensive experience in teaching and coaching all age groups and levels, training for business success, HR, best practise and efficient office management, which gives me the skills to assess situations so we can provide a target focused training program.

My experience but my non-technical background helps to bring a dynamic mix to automotive training.  A good 50% of the customers a service advisor deals with each day will not have a technical background. Because many service advisors come directly from the workshop floor they tend to speak technically. We can show them how to sell more successfully by using simple, plain language and techniques that draw on customers buying motives proven to increase sales.

I joined betterment in 2009 to research and develop our Customer Service and leadership training programs, which are now delivered extensively throughout New Zealand and Australia.

The secret to the success is our programs have been specifically developed to match the New Zealand & Australian markets.  We use real life scenarios taken from your business and incorporate them in the training.  Before our training commences I spend time observing what really happens out there.
